It has been announced a list of movies that are considered the best of their time. All of them were shot in the middle of the last century but their popularity is high till today. Let me mention some of them that are really worth seeing if you like old movies:
1. Seven Samurai. The film was shot in 1954 by a famous director Akira Kurosawa. The story goes about farmers who hire seven samurai to fight with a gang.

2. The Rules of the Game. The work of a French director Jean Renoir dates back to 1939, the plot is focused on the upper class society on the eve of World War II.

3. Breathless. Another film from a French film industry. The protagonist who is a young handsome criminal is performed by Jean-Paul Belmondo.

4. The Seventh Seal. The Swedish drama film dates back to 1957 and directed by Ingmar Bergman. In the limelight there is a medieval knight who meets Death.

5. Modern Times. It is a classical representative of American comedy by Charlie Chaplin. His character tries to survive in a new epoch of industrialization.

6. Solaris. The psychodrama under the direction of Andrei Tarkovsky was shot in 1972 and turned into a legend that is worth seeing.

7. Lat Tango in Paris. In this Italian film star such stars as Marlon Brando, Maria Schneider and Jean-Pierre Leaud.

8. Les Enfants du Paradis, known as Children of Paradize was released in 1945 in France. The story tells about the Nazi occupation so terrifying and close to that time.

9. Umberto D. is a neorealist movie directed by Vittorio de Sica. The greatest thing is that nearly all actors were non-professionals.

10. Blowup. The film was released in 1966; it is the result of cooperation between British and Italian filmmakers. The story is focused on a photographer who gets involved in a murder by accident.
