So the 2008 Summer Olympics opening ceremony started at 8.00 pm on August 8, 2008, and was expected to “blow up” the stadium.

The ceremony was opened by modern drum sequence including 2008 drummers with glowing drumsticks. It causes huge interest that the girl heading the parade was seen singing Ode to the Motherland, while the song was in reality performed by another girl. From the very beginning, the ceremony was entangled in rumors and accidents. For example, the SBS channel filmed rehearsals secretly and leaked some of it, which is prohibited by law. Or, let’s remember scandal about computer simulated fireworks. In the Internet appeared titles going that it was a fake and we were fooled. Well, in my opinion, we got a breathtaking show, and the way it was made is not our business. If it was not made in a traditional way, it testifies Chinese engineers’ imagination and qualification, which did their best to impress spectators.
