You know, The Invisible Man is not only a science fiction novella written by H. G. Wells and filmed later on. If you type in the words in Google searching line, you will find a dozen of Invisible Man titles. Let’s take, for example, a British and U.S. television series that are both based on the original story. Even an animated television series named The Invisible Man appeared. The only thing is indubitable, the plot of the story has become one of the most popular of all times. Taking into consideration that the story was written as early as 1897, it seems surprising and amazing that the story about an invisible man lives till these days. I think that an incredible success of The Invisible Man is hidden in its plot that reveals an unusual man with dramatic yet charming life story. What is more, it is based on the mystery, which has always driven a lot of attention.

By the way, not only filmmaking industry was attracted by The Invisible Man. Several pop and rock bands performed songs under this title. Among these bands there is, for example, Queen, 98 degrees, Theory of a Deadman. In the last century another two novels with The Invisible Man title were published – a novel by Ralph Ellison and a novel by Geza Gardonyi. I wonder if the story of an invisible man still inspires novelists, filmmakers and singers. I suppose we will see it in the future. And now let’s enjoy what we already have.
