User submitted: Females are under attack

"Myspace is the best such example but this really adds a whole new dimension to it. In a recent research conducted by AP, it was found that users with female names recieved a minimum of 100 malicious, sexually oriented messages per day! In this study bots and human researchers logged on under various male and female-like nick names and verified this result for themselves. Moreover, it is clearly evident that the messages recieved were from real users and not from bots as it is difficult to program a bot to recognize names as male or female. Even if it does, most of the users who use variations like All-exandra, will not be affected by this.
This absolutely makes it clear that chat rooms are full of flirts who don’t really care for people’s privacy. Recent surveys also proved that in Myspace, (male) teens search for girls and try their best to befriend them based on profile pictures and such. So, if you are a girl, you’d better beware and use neutral chat nicknames like Wolf, etc. What are your comments on this? If you are a girl, will you consider this as spam? Will you block/report such users? Or do you think this is just fun? Share your feelings."Unknown Some expert claims: It’s sad that we have to say to men and women, but especially women, `Don’t give away too much information and that includes your gender,’” she said. “There’s no reason for people to have to know that you’re a woman.” P.S. Thanks for your submitting.  female, harrasment, myspace, chat, female names, attack, flirt, nicknames
