Japanese coalition vs. YouTube
News and rumors about YouTube’s drawbacks and infringement flood the web. I believe even the slightest mention sets YouTube’s teeth on edge. At least every month we get to know loads of incredible news related to Google’s profitable investment.
Just last week Teachers Association complained about offensive material on this site. And this week starts all over again just like that. Remember Viacom’s legal proceeding? This is nothing compared with what is to come.
Japanese music and films coalition claims YouTube does nothing to stop illegal copyrighted video spreading. Most probably the coalition have a claim on YouTube due to the fact the video sharing giant launched a Japanese version in June.
“We demand that all copyrighted material be removed immediately…we want them to reset the service,” say the members of the coalition.
As far as I know the coalition has held two meetings with YouTube and Google staff this year and the video site responded to its requests last October by deleting 29,000 files from its service.
By the way, according to the Associated Press, YouTube spokesman told that the company is near the final stages of deploying a system to filter out copyrighted content which will be launched in September.
