Hulu.com: All-in-One Video Formats & Genres

Hulu.com, a joint venture between NBC Universal and News Corp., launched with many episodes of hit NBC and Fox shows and a small sampling of movies. Among popular TV series HULU offers shows like The Office, Prison Break, Bionic Woman, Heroes, House and Bones. Besides, amateurs of episodes from TV classics like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Miami Vice, Arrested Development, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The A-Team must be glad to hear the news.

And it must be mentioned that all these TV shows and episodes will bring you 15 cable networks (Bravo, E! Entertainment, FX, Sci-Fi, USA, etc.), four of the largest Studios (Fox, MGM, Sony and Universal) and a broad array of independent, web-centric content providers. (tvover)

They say: “We hope to provide you with the web’s most comprehensive selection of premium programming across all genres and formats – television shows, feature films, clips, and more. …we want to give you more choices of when and where you can enjoy your favorite programming, while creating innovative experiences that let you watch and participate in online video in new and exciting ways.”

LA Times writes, “Hulu announced last-minute deals to get content from Sony Corp. and MGM. Sony is contributing old shows including “Married . . . With Children” and “Charlie’s Angels,” while MGM is throwing in old shows such as “Fame” and “The Pink Panther,” as well as a few lesser-known movies.”

Moreover, press evaluated HULU as a “YouTube rival” not without reason. NBC pulled its videos off YouTube to derive benefit from launching a new co-venture in cooperation with News Corp which has numerous online video plays including downloads through MySpace and the user-generated MySpaceTV property, therefore giving HULU many opportunities and future prospects. Likewise services and opportunities:

* Embeddable videos
* Video-sharing
* Partners’ channels & networks

In its turn, YouTube reacted on this event immediately and played trumps! Video-sharing giant announced that the look of the massively popular video sharing website will be undergoing some major changes in the upcoming months.

According to a blog post, they offer viewers this sneak preview of the new YouTube video browsing page (the “Videos” tab) and invite us to share our feedback with us. Dropdown menus make for a smoother transition when clicking through popular pages, i.e. “Most Viewed,” “Top Favorites,” “Recently Featured,” etc. These new changes will go live very soon, so make your voice heard while we’re still workin’ out the kinks.
