Disney Launches Xtreme Digital with Parental Controls

Especially fro preteens (kids under 14) has been created personal mini Web sites akin Myspace’s very popular social networking site for older teens and young adults. Disney has launched their equivalent site, which includes widgets, games and videos with parental control over internet activities, called Disney Xtreme Digital, or Disney XD.
Having said that, it’s really should be mentioned that all the Disney content is Disney related. We already wrote about their last announcement back in February, but can’t see any considerable difference in this release.
Perhaps the most important point, however, is the parental controls, that keep children from sharing personal information, and getting themselves into trouble by any other means on the site.
“I want tons of kids immersed in my brands and franchises. What better marketer do I have than a kid?” Paul Yanover, executive vice president and managing director of Disney Online, said. “It’s really about building a kid community … (that) extends beyond individual Disney products, Web sites and titles.”
Apparently, creators of this app thought over some relevant problems kids can come across. Now they give an opportunity the parents to take over their control, getting along with their children at the same time.
