On Wednesday CBS (namely its sport-oriented divisions) made a string of investments in online-ticket marketplace TicketReserve. Once again CBS as well as other TV networks makes money online.
CBS looked up to TicketReserve, a tradable reservation ofr a face value ticket to see your favorite team if they participate in a specific future game. As a result they stroke strategic partnership.
By the way, Ticketreserve gives an opportunity to have an access to most popular events, buy tickets in advance.
Needless to say the CBS television network airs major sporting events, including the football Super Bowl this year. CBS also owns the CSTV cable network for college sports events and CBS SportsLine.
CBS Chief Executive Leslie Moonves said two weeks ago that the company has spent $100 million on 13 new-media investments. Since then, CBS also has disclosed a $280 acquisition of music and social-networking Web site Last.fm.
