There are many ways to prevent your children from watching “bad” videos. Here are some of them:

ONE: The first and the simpliest is to be at their side and choose the videos yourself. But ask yourself, is it possible to control them every time?

TWO: The other way is to buy expensive software like Safe Eyes. According to the information presented on the website, using this software you get:

Content Controls - Flexible content control allows you to select the types of website that are appropriate.

Program Controls - Control Instant Messengers, P2P File Sharing, and other harmful programs.

Time Controls - Control the amount of time spent online, and the times when the internet is available.

Usage Logging - Create and review logs of websites visited, programs used on the Internet, and Instant Messaging Chats.

Usage Alerts - Be notified instantly via email, text message, or phone call when someone visits inappropriate websites.

Looks really good! But the price is rather high…

THREE: Kideo Player. It is very simple to use and moderated by Thomas Ajello, father of two. Here is what he says about it:

I will spend my free time sourcing, identifying and curating the safest, most educational (and most FUN) YouTube videos I can find. This ongoing list of videos will be served up in a simple little interactive package that I can sit down and play with my boys. I call this package “KideoPlayer.”

And since I’m doing this online (and the web is as social as social can be) you get the benefit of all my hard work. Yay!

Still there is one question about mouse click on YouTube logo, which brings you it’s whole evil uncensoreness.

Choose what suits you best, keep videos moderated and your kids safe.

I bet all of us are fed up with stupid commercials that break our favourite TV shows. The majority of them is done by amateurs, because some companies try to save money on advertising. But not all of the commercials are like that! There are many creative projects, which were done by professionals and make you want to see them again and again. In this article we’re going to help you with finding some very creative commercials and saving them on your PC.

Step 1:

Find them! This is easier than you might think it is! Try to search for “funny commercials” in Google or Yahoo, then choose a website from the list. I’d recomend you to open some of them to be able to compare & pick up the best one. For example, I bumped into this one. There are 16 pages of differrent commercials, some of which you can download directly from the website and some with the links to YouTube or Google Video (i’ll explain you later how to download flash video from these video services). And here is another cool website for commercials. It works with flash videos either, so it will also be rather easy to download them.

Step 2:

Pick up something you like! In case you went to YouTube, Google Video or other video service that stores not only commercials, you have to pick a video you like. You may just watch it right there, but our purpose is to download it. I hope you picked up something you really like and let’s move forward to downloading it.

Step 3:

Download it! The easiest way, to my mind, is to install a plugin for your Mozilla. You can find it here. And in case you use other internet browser or just do not want to use this plugin for any reason, this article might be very useful for you. And one more thing, to play flash videos (.flv) you shall have an FLV player installed, but you can just download install this free codec and play videos simply using windows media player.

That’s it! Now you’re ready to make your own collection of TV commercials!

Do you like the look of your remote controller? What if I told you that you can browse all your home theatre media files using an iPhone or any other web-enabled device? Do you like those tons of DVD’s lying everywhere and giving your living room a “messy” look? Is your home theatre interface friendly? Want to have your own one? Did you dream of being anywhere , going to a , browsing your listing of movies and hitting a button that will for you (lights dim to the appropriate level, masking system/lens adjust to the aspect ratio of the movie, etc…), then all you have to do is walk in and start watching. Then HTPC is the right solution for you!

A Home theater PC (HTPC) or media PC is a convergence device that combines the functions of a personal computer and a digital video recorder. It is suitable for connection to a TV or a TV-sized computer display and is often used as a digital photo, music, video player, TV receiver and digital video recorder. The general goal in a HTPC is usually to combine many or all components of a home theater setup into one box.

Here are the reasons for you to switch to Home Theatre PC:

You can choose every single part for your HTPC yourself! Everything from case to controlling devices is available for purchasing on the web. So you just have to set the budget, order the part and wait for them to arrive. Or there are always many ready-for-action devices being sold.

Unlimited storage! It’s up to you whether a 250Gb drive is sufficient or you want several drives over 1Tb.

Play your favorite games on big screen with superb sound! And you don’t have to leave your living room for that!

Set any interface! It’s up to you, whether you want your HTPC to run under Windows, Linux, Mac OS or whatever. You can set up any interface which would seem handy for you.

Great performance and multiple media functions. Put several TV-tuners into your HTPS if you feel like watching or recording several TV programs at a time.

Control it remotely within any distance! Any web-enable device would be enough to control your HTPC media library using web interface. So that you will be able to create a playlist and make it play even before you reach home.

Upgrade your HTPC any time! Add more hard drives or improve its performance by adding RAM or putting a better processor. It’s all like PC.

An HTPC will look great in your living room! There are so many cases available, that you can choose one that will be of the same color with your TV, table, carpet or whatever.

There are many guides on the web that would be of a great help for you. Here is the one I consider the best, though it is rather aged.

And once you got your HTPC ready don’t forget to visit our video section, where America funniest videos can be found.

8 Reasons Why HTPC Is The Best Home Theatre System is a post from: Videos and web TV

I bet more than two… Here are the reasons to switch to Internet TV for you:

The first obvious reason is that it has only ONE damn function: viewing. To save the things you like you have to buy expensive devices and plug them properly.

The bad and Effing annoying commercials! This only reason eggs me on so much!

The lack of good channels to choose from. You can find almost anything on the internet in any field that is interesting to you.

You can easily share videos with your friends on the web by sending a simple link. No need to call them over the phone and tell to hurry up and turn on a channel.

The ability to discuss videos on the web and let the director and everyone else know what you think. The simple comments on YouTube is the best example.

Rate the videos you like. Apart from sharing with your friends, you can also rate videos and contribute to the development of internet TV-watching society.

Save the videos you like for free and make your own ultimate collection! Found something you love? Keep it! You can use CamStudio software which is absolutely free, for example. And moreover, one can easily download YouTube videos using the Firefox extension.

No more uninformative TV programs! Be informed of everything that is up. The easiest way to find the stuff you are looking for is to use one of the numerous search engines(like Google).

Start your own web TV channel and become a star yourself! Can you imagine doing this with the help of your old TV set?

How many channels do you need? And how many does your TV set have? Watch all of them online!

Crashing will be fun!!
