Quietube: Watch Flash Videos In Peace!

Quietube: Watch Flash Videos In Peace!

It’s all about time and attention. Our cities are covered with ads, mailboxes are full of spam and we are always distracted. As a matter of fact, we can’t even watch videos, because they’re glued to the shining, colourful ads. Or can we?

quietube: Video without the distractions

To watch web videos without the comments and crap, just drag the button below to your browser’s bookmarks bar. On any of the supported video pages, click the bookmark button to watch in peace.

You can then make short URLs too, to send the quietube version to your friends. Easy as.

This is what the creators of Quietube say about their program. As a matter of fact, this is the first tool that lets you to put side all the buzz and concentrate on the video itself. Like everything genius the “Quietube” is very easy to use! You just have to drag the button from the official website to your bookmarks toolbar and once you go to YouTube for videos (Viddler & Vimeo are also supported) you just click the button “Quietube” and enjoy the lack of distractors.

Unfortunately, the program works with the listed websites only, but can we consider it to be a disadvantage? Just the YouTube itself IS something.

The strangest thing about Quietube is that after having enjoyed a couple of videos you get a feeling that you’re watching them on a poorly-designed blog. But this happened to me and you may have another attitube towards ads-free videos. The only thing that is out of question is the speed! It turned out that Quietube is a great time saver, because you do not have to load ads and different previews of related, featured and other videos you may not even need. So, if you need a clear, ads-free page for watching YouTube videos - Quietube’s just exactly what you need.

UTube Videos: See The Future!

UTube Videos: See The Future!There are some moments in our lifes when we try to imagine, what will the world look like a dozen years from now. Some people give up imagining a couple of hours later and the only living creatures they share their creative ideas with are pets, others make it their jobs. Since our age is information age and the companies are willing to share their concept projects with customers, almost any video on how they see the future can be found on YouTube. So, relax and get ready to familiarize yourself with the future technologies.

FOLD/UNFOLD ASUS Notebook Concept Design:

Looks like this concept laptop was inspired by japanese origami. The idea is fascinating! Plus, ASUS promises it will have touch screen, so, by the final release of Windows 7, this dream machine might become real.

Massaud - Manned Cloud Airship Hotel:

How about circling the globe in a few days? Add a restaurant, a library, a lounge and a gym, 20 passenger rooms, terraces with panoramic windows, a spa and a bar room and we’re all in!

Ford SYNC:

Who’s man’s best friend? A dog? Ford? The last variant is more likely.

Nokia Morph:

This is the yummiest concept of all! No more comments on this one. Just watch the video below!

If you’re still hungry for futuristic ideas, you can find some more here.

Flickr Proudly Adds Itself To List Of Video Sharing Sites

Flickr Proudly Adds Itself To List Of Video Sharing Sites

Looks like many social websites have finally come to the idea that people love to share videos with each other. So did Flickr, but will it be able to compete YouTube? That is the question.

Last Spring Yahoo has added a video hosting feature to its Flickr, but only for paid users of the Pro version. Recently the company has announced that now even users with free accounts can put their videos on Flickr. The service has also been enhanced with high-definition video quality, still only for members with paid Pro subscriptions.

Free users will be limited to two video uploads per month, and each video is limited to 90 seconds in length and 150MB in file size. This compares pretty scantily with YouTube’s allowance of up to 10 video uploads at a time with a 1GB size limit for free account holders. Vimeo permits 500MB and one HD video upload per week for free users.

A company representative clarified the free account situation as follows: “Anyone (Free and Pro) can upload HD video but it will only be processed as HD video if you are a Pro member. What this means for Free members is that Flickr keeps the original file, so if you ever decide to upgrade to a Pro account, your video will automatically update to HD, too.”

You can read about the changes on Flickr on Yahoo’s Yodel Anecdotal blog.

At the same time, YouTube has decided to give it’s users new opportunities: the site is launching a new Adopt A Feature campaign, inviting users to create videos showing off some of its lesser-known features, like AudioSwap. YouTube will track the progress of the features on its blog, and will present the most effective videos on the YouTube homepage and as permanent additions to its help pages.

Oscar Nominees List: 14 Animated Features (2008)

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is the world’s preeminent movie-related organization, with a membership of more than 6,000 of the most accomplished men and women working in cinema. In addition to the annual Academy Awards – in which the members vote to select the nominees and winners – the Academy:

  • presents a diverse year-round slate of public programs, exhibitions and events;
  • provides financial support to a wide range of other movie-related organizations and endeavors;
  • acts as a neutral advocate in the advancement of motion picture technology;
  • and, through its Margaret Herrick Library and Academy Film Archive, collects, preserves, restores and provides access to movies and items related to their history.

Through these and other activities the Academy serves students, historians, the entertainment industry and people everywhere who love movies.

The Academy has recently released the list of Animated Features, three of which will be chosen to go on to the big show. 14 films have been submitted for consideration in the Animated Feature Film category for the 81st Academy Awards. Here is the complete list, including official trailers I found on YouTube:

1)Bolt

2)Delgo

3)Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who!

4)Dragon Hunters

5)Fly Me To The Moon

6)Igor

7)Kung Fu Panda

8)Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa

9)The Sky Crawlers

10)Sword Of The Stranger

11)The Tale Of Despereaux

12)WALL-E

13)Waltz With Bashir

14)$9.99 - I wasn’t able to find a trailer for this one, but here is some info on it.

I consider this nomination to be of a big importance, because animated movies is what our children love to watch and they greatly contribute to the way the kids interpret the real world. Anyway, enjoy watching trailers and choose something for yourself & your kids. ;)
