Hurricane Best Video & Curious Facts

Nature is rich in inexplicable and unexpected phenomena. Some of them bring are worth admiration while others interfere with human’s life and can do a serious harm. You may remember the shocking stories of Dangerous & Shocking Shark Attacks. Now I would like to focus on devastating power of hurricanes and some fascinating facts about them.
Hurricanes usually form on the areas of low air pressure where difference between clouds and warm water cause rotating wind streams. Hurricane have about 700 – 800 km in diameter with a so called eye (or center) up to 35 km. I wonder that weather condition in the center of a hurricane is very calm and nice while whirling streams around it hit everything on their way with tremendous force.

Hurricanes are usually accompanied with severe floods, which is the main reason of human deaths (about 90 per cent). It is essential for whirling winds to support at least 75 degrees of Fahrenheit to survive. That is why we can’t remember any hurricanes in cold waters of North America’s West Coast. The same reason stipulates the season for hurricanes to appear – late summer or early fall.
By the way, hurricanes can cause very positive consequences. Do you know, for example, that a hurricane once stopped a war? It was in 1888 when German fleet faced American one near the coasts of Samoa. The German troops were about to attack when a hurricane began and destroyed both fleets. Soldiers started to help each other, and the incident was forgotten.
It is a long tradition to name hurricanes. At first, they got saints’ names, then scientists began using female names, and only in 1978 man’s names were included as well. The most devastating hurricane in human’s history occurred in Bangladesh in 1970. Over a million lives were taken by wind and water.

By the way, do you know that every year sharks attack people about 100 times; on average 10 of their victims dye in the result? The figures cannot be exact because not every shark attack is reported. Sometimes, it happens due to bad mass media as in the countries of the third world, or due to government politics – they just do not want to cause panic. Anyway, the numbers are terrifying.
The most common places where sharks dwell are nearshore waters and areas with steep drop-offs.
There are supposed to be three kinds of shark attacks excluding a provoked one. The most common is a so called “hit and run” attack. That happens in the majority of cases with swimmers and surfers in nearshore area. A shark makes a single bite and disappears. As a rule injures after this kind of a shark attack is nor life threatening. Unlike “hit and run” two other types of attack known as “bump and bite” and “sneak” result in hard injuries and even fatality. “Bump and bite” means that a shark circles bumping a victim, then attacks it. “Sneak” means that there will be no any warning before an attack.
Well, in spite of a terrifying data it is no need to panic. Much more people suffer and even dye annually through bees, snakes or swaps fault. Or the risk of dying from lightning is 30 times bigger than form shark attacks. So, just follow the rules and pay attention to signs during your holiday at the seaside. And you will not be in danger. Video of the Day: UFO Phenomenon

Do you believe that UFOs really exist? Well, the question is quite confusing. On the one hand, on the Internet and TV there are thousands of sightings. On the other hand, they are claimed to be fake. UFOs are considered aircrafts sent to the Earth by other highly developed civilizations. At the same time, fter thorough investigations the majority of so called UFOs resulted to be balloons, aircrafts, astronomical objects or simply light phenomena or hoaxes.
By the way, this week two sighting reports came from California. One comes from Oklahoma and the other from Illinois. The first incident was noticed by a couple who could see three bright lights moving in the sky. The second case was witnessed by many people. Something bright, white and star looking appeared in the sky. It was silent and large.
I am sure that everybody who has seen an UFO at least once do really believe that they exists, while other stay rather skeptic about it. They say that an UFO is an invention of militaries that is kept in secret. Who knows? Still multiple photographic evidence exist such as still photos, videos, movie films. Besides, radars contact and track them. And what about the next video clip? The incident took place and was caught on video on August 8th, 2009. An UFO was witnessed at about 4:15 PM near Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona.
Seems quite terrifying. So if you would prefer now to switch over to any funnier topic I suggest remembering Top 10 Funniest Videos on YouTube. Anyway, till today UFOs and extraterrestrial civilizations (if they exist, of course) have not shown any threatening intention. So we can dream about how wonderful it will be in the future to travel to other galaxies in similar UFOs and investigate the Universe.

Dangerous & Charming: Video of Venus Flytrap

Do you know what is the most studied plant in the history and why? That is the Venus Flytrap discovered in 1760 on the territory of North Carolina by Arthur Dobbs. The Venus is often called the greatest wonder of the Vegetable Kingdom. The reason for such a great attention is that this charming plant catches and digests insects. When a prey contacts two trigger hairs or plant hairs at least twice, the trap closes catching a prey. I suggest that we watch the deadly plant in action.

The Venus Flytrap is one of a few plants to be capable of quick movements in spite of a small size. The time the plant needs for closing its trap is record – less than 0.1 seconds. The speed can vary depending on light, humidity, conditions, dimensions of a prey, and so on. When a Venus Flytrap catches a very small insect that manage to escape, the plant will open its trap within 12 hours. If a prey cannot escape it will take for a Venus 10 days to digest a prey. In case a plant feels any movements inside, it fastens the mechanism of digesting and the trap closes even more tightly.

What really surprises is that the Venus Flytrap can identify what is a living prey and what is a non-living thing, for example, a rain drop or a falling leaf. By the way, the Venus Flytrap is very popular to grow it at home. Though it is a swamp plant by nature, it may result rather troublesome. But there is nothing impossible. You just need a few tips to remember.

A healthy plant has a red trap. For that they ought to grow in unshredded sphagnum moss or acidic soil, and no nutrients. It is also preferable to place it in a vessel with water, so it will need no watering. And do not feed the plant. Its hairs have to attract and win a prey without your help. A good pet, is not it? Loch Ness Monster Caught on Video

What secret keeps waters of Loch Ness? Does the world famous cryptic monster really exist? And has anybody ever eye witnessed it? These questions agitate imagination both of scientists and of ordinary people who arrive at the lake so that to make sure that a wonder exists. But the Mother Nature keeps its secrets thoroughly. That’s why the mankind has always tried to solve its mystery. Let’s take, for example, Nature Video Clips: Glaciers watched recently. And now we face Loch Ness mystery, and I suggest that we watch some exciting videos and learn curious facts about Nessie.

The monster was mentioned for the first time in the 7th century when a man swimming in the river was attacked by an unknown beast. Till today those who believe in the Loch Ness monster make reference to this legend and affirm that the monster doubtlessly exists. During all the history of the mankind there have been multiple mentions about a strange monster. Now we can see a lot of amateur video clips shot at the riverside with some roughness and shades on the surface.

But there is another point of view, which is opposite to the one above. According to some skeptics there is nothing more than a crocodile in the river, may be it is extremely large but there is no any wonder. According to others, thanks to the legend the place that is peaceful and calm has obtained the world popularity and turned into a tourist destination. So why not to maintain the myth in order to keep the region flourishing?

I believe that the only way to reveal the truth (but that will be only your truth, do not even try to impose it) is to visit the Loch Ness and see with your own eyes what you want to see. Not without reason they say that seeing is believing.
