Sentimental Rap Songs: Video to Feel

When you are told about rap songs, what do you tend to think about? It might be cool stylish men, wise words or something on the contrary. But you are unlikely to mention sentimental feelings. However, that is precisely what I would like to show you today – the best sentimental rap songs.
And the first song video is “Dear Mama” by 2Pac. The rapper introduced the trend into the industry. After him lots of rap musicians dedicated their songs to moms. That turned into a sort of fashion in the 90s.

Another masterpiece belongs to Ghostface feat. Mary J. Blige and is called “All That I Got Is You”. As I have just mentioned, the song is a tribute to mother in which he describes what obstacles she managed to go through during her life.

Mary J. Blige also worked with a famous rapper Method Man, in the result of which they released a wonderful duet song “I’ll Be There For You” that held the first numbers in music charts. By the way, their song won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. That dates back to 1996.

Let’s pass over to the next masterpiece that is called “I Need Love”. The song is considered the first rap composition about love. In fact, thanks to romantic ballads like this one we all know the name of LL Cool J who performed it.

And the last sentimental rap song for today is a single from De La Soul that is a jazzyfied hip-hop band. The guys were the first to sing about women, love in a sweet way. Their song “Eye Know” is the best one. It kept leading positions in music charts for a long time. Yeah. Nothing can be more sweet than guys in love.

Remembering the Best: Fiddler on the Roof

On August 30, 2009 closes ‘Fiddler on the Roof’: The Farewell Tour. It will take place in Portland, Oregon. It has only left for classics lovers to wait for another chance to see the favorite musical, songs and actors.
The most popular Broadway musical of all times and nations opened on September 22, 1964 at the Imperial Theatre. Its popularity was shocking. The next day after the opening night it became clear that the musical would come into history. The best testimony to it is 3242 performances for 8 years and 9 months and 9 Tony Awards received in 1965.
Initially, Fiddler on The Roof was entitled Tevye. The reason is the story is based on Tevye and his Dauhters (or Tevye the Milkman) tale.
Fiddler on the Roof was screened as early as 1971 by Norman Jewison. It turned out to be a real success. The film came into top 10 best films-musicals along with “Mary Poppins”, “My Fair Lady” and “West Side Story”. The film received 3 Oscars: the best screen version, the best sound and music; it received a Golden Globe as the best film (comedy or musical) as well.
Local color and singularity of the Jewish mentality, peculiar humor and almost natural optimism of the nation which had got stronger after numerous wanderings all over the world and constant prosecutions, tragicomic emotions of the protagonist observing the collapse of the world — all of it agitates hearts and souls of people throughout many years.
The film is serious and philosophical, despite an abundance of cheerful moments which help to restrain tears.
There are lots of interesting facts connected with the world-known musical. For example, on May 26, 2008 TIME magazine reported that the Fiddler on the Roof became the 7th most frequently performed musical by U.S. high schools.
Nowadays, you can hardly find something as striking, charming and unique as Fiddler on the Roof. So it is extremely important to appreciate such masterpieces and not to forget about them.
