Female Directors Who Shaped Horror Movies

There is a myth that horror movie are meant exclusively for men, while women prefer to watch romance comedies or something else of the sort. It is silly to think so, and that is why I offer you best horror movie actresses who lightened up the whole concept of horror.
Female Directors Who Shaped Horror Movies
When it comes to reigning royalty in the horror world — the stories that started it all — there are two names that always come up. One is Bram Stoker and his story of ‘Dracula,’ the novel that created an insatiable sea of vampire fiends and supernatural sensuality. The other is Mary Shelley and the “first great modern horror novel,” ‘Frankenstein.’ These worlds set up the horror genre, and defined the monsters who would rule it. They offered up competing notions of menace and sadness, both exploring the worlds of loneliness and despair. And it’s quite lovely that with these two grandparents of the form, the man created the world of sensuous blood-sucking, while the woman created a world of body parts and human monstrosities … but let’s not get caught up in antiquated gender stereotypes.
We have filmmakers like Mary Harron who took Bret Easton Ellis’ ‘American Psycho’ and turned the male gaze on itself, the obsession with image resting solely with Patrick Bateman as he worshipped and obsessed about his body and every inconsequential detail of his life, while the women took on a much more laid back and casual demeanor.
The writer and director of 1982’s ‘Slumber Party Massacre’ is Amy Holden Jones, the woman who wrote and directed ‘Maid to Order’ and penned ‘Beethoven’ and ‘Mystic Pizza’ offered classic, ridiculous and truly terrible horror.
By the way, one of the creepiest Stephen King’s novels was shaped by Mary Lambert. And thankfully, these women are only the tip of the iceberg: Our beloved Kathryn Bigelow moved from campy, ultra-hick vampires in ‘Near Dark’ to history-making Oscar wins. Enjoy here some of them.

5 Movies That Make Audience Sick

When a movie becomes really popular, ever cinema and TV channel does its best to be the first to show it on the screen. That is how the most popular movies turn to be the most annoying ones. Here is the list of the best Hollywood movies that make people feel sick when they watch it on TV.
•    Avatar. Yes, how much you love this movie, it has been on our screen so many times, they we must say No finally. I just want to say thanks to James Cameron who created such a great epic story. But please stop it.

•    The Passion of the Christ. ‘Avatar’ is not the only blockbuster that left a wake in its wake, however. In 2004, ‘The Passion of the Christ’ shocked audiences with its graphic depiction of the crucifixion.

•    The Blair Witch Project. You might expect horror movies to headline a list like this, but the mass sickness caused by ‘The Blair Witch Project’ shot in 1999 was due less to the content than to the style. The movie’s use of handheld cameras and jerky editing led to motion sickness among audiences from coast-to-coast.

•    The Exorcist. The movie was released by Warner Bros. in 1973. A film rewrote the entire concept of horror movies, a blockbuster box office smash continues to earn them money up to this day. By the way, the movie resulted so scary that one day a usual moviegoer fainted and broke his jaw when he fell onto the seat in front of him.

•    Psycho. Before ‘The Exorcist,’ of course, there was ‘Psycho,’ which shocked audiences in 1960 with the sudden and gruesome murder of star Janet Leigh less than halfway through the film. Audiences around the globe were reported to have been afflicted with widespread fainting and vomiting spells, which only helped pique interest about the movie.

Watch Funny News Bloopers Online

The principle to choose news anchors is very strict. They are people with perfect diction, smart yet elegant look and common intelligence. But even the son has dark spots on it, so do the best of us. I understand that it is bad to laugh at somebody else’s mistakes, but it is a real fun. News anchor fails are always hilarious, because they are a stark contrast to the usual poise you generally see from such professional figures. That is why I suggest you a series of the best bloopers ever occurred in the news. Believe me, you will have a good time watching these videos.

One of the shortest and one of the most favorite news bloopers is about Ass Cream. Yes, that is what the anchor said. And thanks to the wonders of the modern world, she shall henceforth be known as the “ass cream girl”.

This delightfully random, and even more delightfully explicit, outburst comes out of nowhere. We love the cheeky chappy grin at the end as Mr. Potty-Mouth casually sticks his hands in his pockets. In his position we’d be placing them on our posterior, to protect from the butt-kicking about to be received.

“No, I wasn’t spanked as a kid per se, Bob, but I’ve seen plenty of paddle-action in my thirties…”she tried to explain and get out of the silly situation, but it was too late. As for me, she seems to feel really embarrassed.

We wouldn’t be surprised if ole Shep had uploaded this clip himself, seeing his reaction to his co-presenter’s “cock”-up and his undoubted certainty that it would make it to YouTube. We are watching you Shepard Smith

The worst thing is the number of news bloopers is so huge that they are impossible to be included in my post now. But some day I hope to widen my collection. See you!

Weirdest Sculptures in the World on Video

I wonder what sculptures are made for. I have always thought that they must represent the deepest thoughts of the mankind. It is like a message made for future generation that reveals our culture, science achievements and art ideas. As for me, I have already changed my mind, and I am sure that you also will after taking a look at the weirdest sculptures ever created.
You know every time I see a beautiful and unusual sculpture while travelling I cannot but taking a photo next to it, but there is a series of constructions that make me feel creepy all over. Let’s take, for example, Vomiting Fountain Sculpture situated in London, UK. No doubt, the sculptor really has a sense of humor.
Another sculpture that makes me feel uncomfortable due to its unaesthetic look is placed in Czech Republic and is called Two Peeing Guys. The idea is disarmingly simple. Two bronze sculptures pee into their oddly-shaped enclosure.
While they are peeing, the two figures move realistically. An electric mechanism driven by a couple of microprocessors swivels the upper part of the body, I will not tell about the lower part if you permit. The stream of water writes quotes from famous Prague residents. Visitor can interrupt them by sending SMS message from mobile phone to a number, displayed next to the sculptures. The living statue then ‘writes’ the text of the message.
And, finally, the most controversial sculpture I have seen in my live. Created by one of the most well known Australian contemporary artists Patricia Piccinini, the sculpture Undivided represents creativity beyond the boundaries of “disturbing” and “ethical issues”. I can say the same about every other art object designed by the artist. You can also see The Long Awaited on video here representing a boy hugging a weird creature.

Top 5 Movie Videos with Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp is one of my absolute favorite actors, due to his love to picking quirky roles over Hollywood leading man or action hero types. Besides, he is considered one of the best actors ever, some critics even place him on the first position. I usually enjoy watching his movies, though there is some exceptions. So I have decided to make a list of my favorite ten of his movies. I have not seen all of them, so I might be missing something good. If so, let me know. Anyway, here’s the list of top movies with Johnny.
•    Donnie Brasco. This movie is based on a true story that goes about Joe Pistone, an FBI agent who went undercover to infiltrate the mob. Depp plays together with Al Pacino – a perfect companion. The film portrays mobsters in a different light than most other Hollywood fare.

•    Pirates of the Caribbean. This trilogy that features Captain Jack Sparrow is fabulous. It represents a mixture of romance, adventure, fun and perfect performance. By the way, now the crew is working on Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which is supposed to be ready in 2011.

•    Alice in Wonderland. The recently launched movie that was in the limelight for a long period of time at the beginning of this year. Crazy, wacky character of Johnny meets Alice when she shows up in Wonderland. I think you remember that.

•    Don Juan DeMarco. One of my personal favorites. This is an odd 1995 film about a mental patient (Depp) who claims to be Don Juan. He has just ten days to convince a psychiatrist (Marlon Brando) that he is indeed Don Juan. Unusual story.

•    Public Enemies. The film was shot in 2009 with Johnny playing John Dillinger role. The story tells how the Feds try to take down notorious American gangsters John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd during a booming crime wave in the 1930s.
