The most discussed singer of the last years is none other than Lady GaGa. She knows how to shock the audience with her extravagant outfits, eccentric songs and impressive music video clips. The latest fruit of the eccentric singer is “Telephone” performed together with Beyonce.

The “Telephone” was directed by Jonas Akerlund. Lady GaGa has already worked with him on the video for “Paparazzi”. The clip is a mixture of stunning actions: girl fights, GaGa goodness, poisoned food, and so on and so forth. In fact this story goes about Lady GaGa’s arrest and imprisonment, which end up by a prison break of the singer. Then appears Beyonce who helps her to make revenge. The video, made in Tarantino style, appeared to be so impressive that even such modern TV channels as MTG refused to broadcast it. I wonder that Britain rejected to broadcast the video on TV. They say that it is due to obscenity in the video. At the same time, such a reaction does not prevent the music video clip to beat all records and surpass all expectations.

“Telephone” video is full of extravagant constructions and make-ups, architectural sunglasses and outfits, unusual approach and the video in general. But that is what we tend to think about when we see Lady GaGa. Suffice it to mention this year’s Grammy Awards. No doubt, the singer is the brightest godsend for show business of these days.

But we perfectly know, if the thing is banned, it becomes desirable. And the video ban is not an exception. In the result within the first 24 hours the clip appeared on the Internet, several million people watched it. I would say, it is impossible to stop popularity and public opinion.

The Best Event Video: Avatar vs The Hurt Locker

All night long directors of both films kept their breath waiting for the results. Somebody was satisfied, while others were definitely not. Avatar of James Cameron won in three categories, and The Hurt Locker took six of them. No doubt, The Hurt Locker is a good and quality film about war, but its victory seems a bit strange.

Some critics suggested their point of view about the issue. Here I have some general factors that might have influenced this year’s results:
•    Social message. People prefer dramas to sci-fi stories. The thing is life stories are closer and more familiar to them than an unknown and fictional world of Pandora. The Americans tend to cheer for the U.S. success war operations in The Hurt Locker rather than watch their defeat in Avatar.
•    Age. The majority of viewers are senior. They have got used to movies that are standard. How can they appreciate the miracle of 3D? Besides, not a single sci-fi film has resulted the best according to the Academy.
•    Completely New. Avatar was a shock for most people who have not seen anything like this in their life. There were several similar precedents in Academy history. Innovations, 3D, new technique – that is not for Oscar.
•    Personal Affection. We could see during the event that voters are inclined to obey blindly their feelings. They have an idol and follow his each step exclaiming how perfect he or she is. And no matter what in reality is. The same happened on the red carpet this year. Just remember the cases of Meryl Strip or George Clooney. And James Cameron, on the contrary, was creamed. What should we love him for?

Well, for this or that reason the best film of these days was beaten by a standard one. Is it fair?

During the history of filmmaking a lot of directors have raised the topic of sports that seems to be more and more popular from year to year. Here I have top 10 sports movies for you to enjoy.
• Raging Bull. The film was shot in 1980 by Martin Scorsese. In the film stars Robert de Niro who plays Jake LaMotta - a boxer who fights with his inner demons.

• Hoosiers. Initially, Jack Nilson was to play the part of Norman Dale, but due to some conflicts Gene Hackman was chosen. The movie is based on a true story about Indians basketball team.
• Rocky. The film got three Academy Awards in different nominations. Stallone both wrote and performed in the movie. Rocky dates back to 1976.

• Bull Durham. The story about an aging catcher played by Kevin Costner whose career is dying out, and a successful young star performed by Tim Robbins. By the way, the film resulted crucial for Tim Robins as he met his future wife there.
• Field of Dreams. Originally, the film was to be named Shoeless Joe. The story is based on the novel by W. P. Kinsella. Kevin Costner performs the main part.

• A League of Their Own. In the film star such actors as Tom Hanks, Gena Davis, Madonna, etc. Hank’s character is based on Hack Wilson, a perfect player and notorious drinker.
• Miracle. The story goes about a great success of the U.S. hockey players who won the Soviet Union team at the 1980 Olimpics. Kurt Russell plays a legendary coach Herb Brooks.

• Remember the Titans. We see an Oscar winning actor Denzel Washington as a coach of a newly integrated football team of Virginia high school.
• Jerry Maguire. Tom Cruise plays a sports agent with double moral and egoistic approach to others. By the way, initially the main character was written for Tom Hanks.

5 Superheroines in Video

We have heard so many times about superheroes, any celebrity would envy their popularity though it is fictional. But who knows at least five superheroines from TV series, movies, cartoons, comics and so on. Here I have the description of five superheroines whose presence in a movie or a cartoon was a sensation.

• Meet Alice – a superheroine from well known Resident Evil movie. The character of Alice was specially created for the movie and was perfectly performed by Milla Jovovich. Alive is a security operative who works for the Umbrella Corp. She suffers from amnesia in the first part of Resident Evil. Then from series to series the situation around her is getting clear. Alice is portrayed as a tough and rugged girl.

• The next character is Chun-Li presented in a popular Chinese video game Street Fighter. Her name can be translated as “beautiful spring”. Chun-Li is an undercover Interpol agent who fights for good.

• The third finctional character was created for popular TV series Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. Her name is Faith Lehane. The girls sas supernatural abilities and fights with such evil beings as vampires. The superheroine Faith Lehane was portrayed by Eliza Dushku. The story became so popular that a new comic book started developing the plot.

• And one more time the character performed by Milla Jovovich from The Fifth Element movie. I think no comments are necessary – the film is known to anyone. A bold ginger is definitely the best.

• And the last but not the least superheroine is Niobe from the Matrix: Reloaded and The Matrix: Revolutions. The character of Niobe is played by Jada Pinkett Smith. Niobe comes from Zion who takes part in the war against the Matrix. Brave and clever, she managed to conquer minds of multiple viewers.

Jeff Baxter Video - Guitar vs Politics

Let’s put aside risky and dangerous moments enjoyed with Megawoosh Video: Fake or Truth and talk about more pleasant and relaxing things. What about guitar, for example? You know exploring YouTube I came across multiple guitar lessons from Jeff Baxter. That made me remember about magnificent and fascinating sounding of this instrument. Unfortunately, I never managed to learn playing the guitar, but I feel so inspired when I listen to his excellent guitar performance.

Just some additional information: Jeff Baxter is a famous American guitarist. The most renowned moments in his career were in 1970s when he used to play in The Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan rock bands. By the way, Jeff has a funny nickname of “Skunk”. Origin of the nickname is not known, and Jeff prefers not to talk about it.

But the most surprising fact is that Jeff chairs Congressional Advisory Board on missile defence and has been working recently as a defence consultant. To tell the truth, I have always imagined rock musicians being rather peculiar and indifferent to social life, and all the more to politics. Well, that is what exceptions exist for – so that to confirm existence of a rule.

So, Jeff Baxter has a diverse career. He made his appearance in a psychedelic pop band Ultimate Spinach, later on he played with the rock bands I mentioned above, and finally in the year of 2001 he took up politic career as a defence analyst. I would describe him as a gifted person that is successful both in politics and music. By the way, he has 8 platinum albums, 17 gold ones, and 2 Grammy awards.

In spite of Jeff’s outstanding personality and magnificent guitar performance, his online presence is very small. Neither sites nor blogs are dedicated to the musician, only online video clips and tapes are available. So, let’s enjoy them.

Best N Sync Music Videos

Hi there, N Sync fans. Today your time has come!Let’s remember those sweet days and share some information and videos of the band. For novices I’d like to add a bit of band history as well.

N Sync was formed as early as 1995 and existed till 2002. It was the teen pop explosion of that time. After leaving the Backstreet Boys, Chris Kirkpatrick decided to create a new pop group. Thus he shared the idea with Lou Pearlman who suggested that they found other singers. Working at Universal Studios Kirkpatrick had a friend Joey Fatone, that’s why the singer was invited in the group as well. One more group member was suggested by Lou Pearlman. The thing is Lou Pearlman looked through some tapes by Mickey Mouse Club and his attention was driven by a talented singer Justin Timberlake. According to the history of N Sync, their fifth member was Jason Galasso at first but only a few weeks later he left the band. He said that the direction of the group displeased him, besides, he confessed that he had never aspired to be a teen idol. Who knows…

The name of the pop group consists of the last letters of its members’ names: Justi-N, Chri-S, Joe-Y, Lanste-N (though originally the ‘N’ came from Jason before he was replaced by Lance), J-C. BTW, Lance is a certified cosmonaut now.

N Synс performs pop soul music. Their distinctive feature is that all the members not only sing well but also dance and have experience as actors. N Sync video clips are extremely dynamic and full of impressing special effects.

Well, it is a pity that such a good group broke up in 2002. After gaining the world popularity and getting multiple awards including Diamond and Platinum Awards, the members of N Sync decided to go their own ways. But we keep listening to their songs and looking for information about its members. Now we have no opportunity to enjoy their performances, there are only N Sync video clips left. So, take your time and take pleasure!!!
