Personally, I believe that money makes the world. It’s an unwritten law. Online video sharing sites and internet television services are still going on to crop up on the web like mushrooms after rain.
Does this mean that these sites pick Youtube, Metacafe or Revver ideas and models? I feel they are going to take the audience by all means (e.g. sharing revenue).
On Monday Adap.tv launched targeted video advertising. Adap.tv, a startup based in San Mateo, founded by Amir Ashkenazi, the co-founder of Shopping.com.
It would be interesting to know, that the service analyzes the content of videos and displays ads-text links on top of the video near the bottom in real time. If somebody talks about a book or show, it shows a link to a web site like Amazon or Fox network network, accordingly.
Metacafe is the first publisher partner, which will be using Adap.tv to show ads on video content in their Travel section. Adap.tv makes direct response adverts which are especially targeted. Evidently Adap.tv has deals with Amazon and Shopping.com.
They say: “adap.tv is a unique online video advertising service that allows publishers and advertisers to match relevant advertising with online video content. The company uses advanced technology that adapts in real time to consumers’ interests and their viewing behaviors.
Working with online publishers and advertisers, adap.tv enhances the viewing experience and extends advertising opportunities by providing highly targeted, relevant ads alongside video content.”
