I bet all of us are fed up with stupid commercials that break our favourite TV shows. The majority of them is done by amateurs, because some companies try to save money on advertising. But not all of the commercials are like that! There are many creative projects, which were done by professionals and make you want to see them again and again. In this article we’re going to help you with finding some very creative commercials and saving them on your PC.
Step 1:
Find them! This is easier than you might think it is! Try to search for “funny commercials” in Google or Yahoo, then choose a website from the list. I’d recomend you to open some of them to be able to compare & pick up the best one. For example, I bumped into this one. There are 16 pages of differrent commercials, some of which you can download directly from the website and some with the links to YouTube or Google Video (i’ll explain you later how to download flash video from these video services). And here is another cool website for commercials. It works with flash videos either, so it will also be rather easy to download them.
Step 2:
Pick up something you like! In case you went to YouTube, Google Video or other video service that stores not only commercials, you have to pick a video you like. You may just watch it right there, but our purpose is to download it. I hope you picked up something you really like and let’s move forward to downloading it.
Step 3:
Download it! The easiest way, to my mind, is to install a plugin for your Mozilla. You can find it here. And in case you use other internet browser or just do not want to use this plugin for any reason, this article might be very useful for you. And one more thing, to play flash videos (.flv) you shall have an FLV player installed, but you can just download install this free codec and play videos simply using windows media player.
That’s it! Now you’re ready to make your own collection of TV commercials!
Sometimes it’s extremely interesting to go back in time and compare the devices we had in past with the modern ones. In this article we’re going to show you what TV’s used to look like at the very dawn of the industry and what devices we have finally come to.
“A television set (usually called a television, TV set, or simply TV) is a device used to view television broadcasts, not to be confused with monitors, which are unable to independently tune into over-the-air broadcasts.” - via Wikipedia.
Old TV’s:
Some TV’s you might find in your basement:
The ones we use today:
Some newly developed:
And finaly: concept TV’s!
This is it! This is where our time journey ends. I bet, 10 years from now the recent concepts will be as funny as old TV’s are nowadays.
As you know, I have a particular interest in eBaum’s World. I have managed to reach Mike Parker who works in the content department and also works with media relations for eBaum’s World and he kindly agreed to answer my questions about eBaum’s World:
eBaum’s World provides so many funny videos, pics, jokes & so on. Do you ever get bored with the job?
Not at all! Knowing that we are providing entertainment to all of our users is great. Its amazing that after all the videos watched and all the pictures we’ve seen, there is always something fresh to be found and sent out to the millions who visit eBaum’s World.
eBaum exists for 8 years by now. Could you tell us, how big your community is and how many uploads do the users perform per day?
Since the end of 2007 when eBaum’s World, has allowed users to register to receive a multitude of perks, including uploading their own media, we have registered over half a million users. Of course we have a very strong following of nonregistered users as well bringing our daily average to near a million users.
With all these users logging on to check out our site we get thousands of submissions each day, which include videos, pictures, games, jokes, etc.
How do you manage to check the copyright for every upload?
We have a very diligent media department that is constantly checking for copyrighted material. When something is found the media is removed and the user notified of their infraction.
I see, you’re giving prizes away for the points users get for every upload. Could you tell us more about this? What was the most unusual thing a user got?
We pride ourselves in giving back to our users, so we have come up with a point system that gives our “eRep Points” away for virtually any action taken on the site. Some actions earn more points of others of course, such as uploading a video earns 50 points and viewing a media earns 1 point. Also, users earn points for views on their content, so there is a healthy ‘battle’ to get featured on our frontpage.
We feel our “eRep Store” has the best selection of items for our users to choose from. Just think of earning a new laptop, camera, or even a cruise for just surfing eBaum’s World!!
An up-to-date question: do the recent financial crisis somehow affect your company?
While it is a very difficult time for many people, we hope we can relieve some of the stress by providing the very best in humor and entertainment the web has to offer.
And finally: what is your favourite thing on eBaum?
Very difficult to answer but I’ll go with… Bubb Rubb and the Leprechaun videos are probably my favorite clips on the site.
I wish long life & billions of funny stuff to eBaum! Thank you, Mike. It was pleasure to talk to you.
The best thing about surfing the web is the ability of having lots of fun online. The only trouble is to find a quality source for really funny video clips, animation, pics or whatever is funny. I bet you found my tips to find video clips article useful for this. But some weeks ago I have discovered the ultimate source for having fun: ebaumsworld.com. And became ebaum-addicted for real! Here is a total review of the best source of fun on the web:
Introduction:
eBaum’s World is a Web site featuring media that comprises videos, flash cartoons, and Web games. The unique feature of the website is individual celebrity soundboards where users can click buttons to hear quotes or phrases spoken by that celebrity. In addition, it has a collection of prank and comedic photos, including signs, Photoshop images, and misleading croppings of normal pictures, as well as flash movies and prank phone calls; and a chatroom and a store that sells the company’s merchandise. The company was founded in 1998 and is based in Rochester, New York. As of November 1, 2007, eBaum’s World, Inc. is a subsidiary of HandHeld Entertainment, Inc.
Features Oreview:
At the first glance, eBaum may seem to you like a huge media storage. But in fact it’s much more than that! There is an opinion that eBaum’s World might be considered as a social network like Digg, Reddit, Kirtsy and others. Everyone is allowed to upload any kind of material
(article, photo, video, sound) in case it does not violate anyone’s rights. Basically users prefer to upload funny videos or pictures, occasionaly some of them upload flash games or news articles.
Once you open News & Links page, you get a Digg-like list of articles with votes count on the left of each article and if you are a user of eBaums’s World, you can vote them up, comment and even thumb comments up and down.
When browsing pics, videos or games you are able to rate & comment them. All in all, videos section is much like YouTube to me, which is very helpful, because you are shown related videos and the tab for getting the source code to get the video embedded in your blog is also present.
Audio/Prank Calls section contains famous soundboards and prank calls (including those in which sounboards were used). As everywhere else on the site, you can comment and rate the stuff you like. I spent half an hour playing with Mr.Garrison’s sounboard. I bet anyone can find something extremely interesting for himself.
eBaum also has a very nice Jokes section where different jokes on various topics can be found. And there is also a list of 10 featured and 10 recently submitted jokes, which may be very convinient if you do not have enought time. Featured jokes are very good!
And offcourse, eBaum has its own community and such features as blogs, groups and live chat help people to socialize with each other, tighten their friendship and encourage them to come up with some more awsome funny ideas.
All in all, eBaum’s World is a huge community of people united with an idea of having fun. For the best of funny stories, pics and videos go to the homepage, where one can easily pick the funniest stuff. So if you ever find yourself bored or depressed - give it a try!
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is the world’s preeminent movie-related organization, with a membership of more than 6,000 of the most accomplished men and women working in cinema. In addition to the annual Academy Awards – in which the members vote to select the nominees and winners – the Academy:

Through these and other activities the Academy serves students, historians, the entertainment industry and people everywhere who love movies.
The Academy has recently released the list of Animated Features, three of which will be chosen to go on to the big show. 14 films have been submitted for consideration in the Animated Feature Film category for the 81st Academy Awards. 14)$9.99 - I wasn’t able to find a trailer for this one, but here is some info on it.
I consider this nomination to be of a big importance, because animated movies is what our children love to watch and they greatly contribute to the way the kids interpret the real world. Anyway, enjoy watching trailers and choose something for yourself & your kids.
